Looking to see how people have been restrained throughout history? Interested in seeing some of the progressions of handcuffs, and seeing different models used around the world? Ever wondered what a straight jacket looks like up close? If you answered YES to any of these questions you should definitely make your way to this Historic Cornwall Jail where we are featuring Devices of Human Restraint from now until August 31st 2011. A guided tour will give you an hours worth of information about the jail, its history, and some of our ghost stories; following the tour you will be escorted to our restraint room where you will be able to look at the various devices on loan from Steve Santini. Your tour guide would be more than happy to answer your questions regarding these devices as well as any other questions you may have about the jail. While you’re here be sure to take advantage of the opportunity to be fingerprinted, to purchase a set of handcuffs, and to purchase your very own JAIL T-SHIRT available in youth and adult sizes.
The Historic Cornwall Jail – where history is interactive!
Plans are currently underway for this year’s Haunted House. We will be working with Lucie and her team again this year, we are working on creating a scarier experience for visitors. We are also working on providing more comfortable waiting areas for those awaiting a fright – or two! This year we have extended the event to span an ENTIRE WEEK! We hope this will allow everyone a chance to be frightened, as was said last year “you may walk in tough as a football player but you will leave screaming like a cheerleader!”
Due to the Canada Post strike The Historic Cornwall Jail will not be able to mail information packages.
Thank-you for your understanding and your patience
